I hear some people say why placing faith in God, believe in yourself. They argue that if you do not know who God is, if you cannot see him, why believe in him? I ask them, have you seen gravitational force? Have you ever felt it in your life? No. In fact until a few centuries ago no one even knew about it. Gravity is such an integral part of your existence that you do not feel it separately. You may deny that it is not there, but it still exists. In fact you will not be able to survive without it. Similarly, God and our existence are completely intertwined, inseparable. Whether we believe in His existence or not, we still are a part of Him. If we ignore Him, we are actually ignoring existence of our own self. We have not then understood the true essence of God.
He resides in us, not in any place of worships of any faith. His heart is beating in you and me and in everything that is living and non-living. Look within yourself; tune yourself to feel His existence. He himself mentioned in the Gita that expression of God is through His true devotee. You need not sing and dance in public to be a devotee. Just pray to him with utmost devotion to bring on the realization to us. Without us He is not expressed and we do not exist without Him.
