Saturn in the 10th house of the birth chart

Saturn in the10th house of your birth chart may give you great professional success, but may not give you a peaceful family life. We will explore why I am writing this.

10th house is the house of Karma, Status, profession, authorities and your boss at your workplace. Saturn represents Karma. We almost always confuse 10th house with our profession only. However, it is not only about the profession, it is about our overall Karma in this life, profession being a part of it.
In the Kaalpurush Kundali or natural chart 10th house is Saturn’s own house Capricorn. Therefore, Saturn is in its elements here, a very powerful position depending on which sign it is sitting in. Saturn in 10th house can give you enormous amount of success, name, fame and status, but only after sheer hard work. With this position, you are inherently very disciplined and methodical at work. You work towards achieving success and status in whichever profession you are in.

10th house is also the house where Sun gets Directional strength or becomes Digbali. Sun represents authority and Saturn represents the working people. Saturn is highly inimical towards Sun. Therefore, if you have Saturn in the 10th house, inherently you are born with a tendency to challenge the authority. You will always be in conflict with the boss in your employment.

It is best if this 10th house Saturn is placed in Capricorn or Aquarius or Libra. Now the result of Saturn in Capricorn and Saturn in Aquarius are very different. Although both are owned by Saturn, Capricorn is a materialistic sign and Aquarius is about spiritual side of Saturn. If the 10 house sign is Capricorn, it can make you a hard task master working incessantly towards achieving your own goal and fulfilling your ambition. In Aquarius, it can give you a scientific bend of mind and a knack for social welfare. When Saturn is placed in Libra, its exalted sign, in the 10th house, it can give you a strong sense of justice towards others and a highly diplomatic mind; you can really work well with others.

Taurus, Gemini and Virgo are friendly signs of Saturn. When the 10th house Saturn placed in the sign of Taurus your focus becomes gaining financial security through work. If it is Gemini, you will have good problem solving skills and reasoning ability. In case the sign is Virgo, Saturn can make you a strategic planner.

Sagittarius and Pisces are neutral placements for Saturn. When placed in Sagittarius, your work may involve religion, and teaching. In Pisces, Saturn can give intuitive mind and you may be a spiritual guide to others.

Saturn in 10th house in the sign of Aries, Cancer, Leo or Scorpio can be a difficult Saturn in this respect. If it is Aries, Saturn is debilitated here, and therefore not able to manifest its good traits fully. As a result, your impulsiveness becomes a hurdle for your professional growth. Similarly, if it is Cancer, you are too emotional and thin skinned to take orders. You get offended by your boss’s remarks very easily. If it is Leo, your high ego and domineering nature becomes your worst enemy for your own progress. If it is Scorpio, your tendency to be secretive and manipulative creates the hindrances.

If Saturn is not well placed in your house of Karma and status, there can be delay in beginning your career.
Saturn in the 10th house may cause differences with the father. This may be in relation to ideology or it may happen that your father was not there with you in your childhood.

Saturn aspects your 12th house from 10th. It destroys your hidden enemies. At the same time you may face problems in going abroad and settling there. You may have trouble in getting restful sleep at night. Saturn’s aspect here creates disturbance in the conjugal pleasure of a couple. Your spiritual life suffers as well.

When Saturn aspects your 4th house. You may have had an unhappy childhood. Your mother probably had been very strict with you. There can be lack of warmth in the relationship with your mother. Your mother may have had poor health as well. In some extreme cases, it may separate you from your mother. You may live away from your birth place.

From 10th house Saturn aspects your 7th house of marriage. This gives you a long lasting marriage but makes your marriage dull and duty bound. Your married life may become more of a responsibility lacking warmth and cordiality. There will always be a distance with the spouse. Since work is everything to you, the importance of marriage slips way down in your priority list. In some cases, you may not even marry with this position of Saturn.
