Rahu-Ketu Transit : September 2020 – April 2022

Rahu and Ketu are going to change signs on 23 September 2020. Rahu is going to enter Taurus and Ketu is going to enter Scorpio. They will remain in these two signs till 12 April 2022. These dates are as per mean node calculations.
Taurus is Rahu’s exalted sign and Scorpio is co-ruled by Ketu. Therefore this transit is of great importance for the world at large and of course for all of us individually. After all Rahu and Ketu are Karmic planets, they signify our materialistic obsessions and liberation from these obsessions. Therefore whether we are going through its dasha or not, we still feel the impact on us in varied intensity. In current times of Kali yug, we just cannot escape from the influence of Rahu and Ketu in our lives.

Let us now see to what intensity you will experience this transit of Rahu and Ketu.

1. You will experience the impact to great extent if you are running Rahu or Ketu’s Mahadasha or Antardasha.
2. You will also experience its impact very prominently if your Moon or ascendant i.e. Lagna is in Rahu or Ketu’s Nakshatra. Degree of the Rahu, Ketu, Moon and the degree of your ascendant will show when you will experience the impact of Rahu-Ketu transit in your life.
3. If any of the planets in your natal chart are placed in the sign Taurus or Scorpio, this transit will activate the houses this planet owns. Say for example, if your 7th house lord is sitting in Taurus, This Rahu’s transit will activate business partnerships, marriage prospects for you. If your 4th lord is in Taurus, this Rahu transit may take you away from home or move to a new house. Similarly you need to check if any planet is sitting in Scorpio in your natal chart. The houses related that planet may go through deep and unexpected transformation.
4. Lastly if this Rahu or Ketu is transiting over a planet whose Mahadasha or Antardasha you are running, you will feel the impact intensely.

In the natural zodiac or kaal Purush kundali Rahu will move to the second house in Taurus. Taurus is the sign owned by Daitya Guru Shukracharya or as we know him in English, Venus, Rahu’s best friend. Taurus shows tendencies for accumulating wealth. Therefore, Rahu’s energy manifests perfectly in materialistic Taurus. This transit will bring sudden monetary growth, a tendency towards saving money and an appetite for exotic food. These three areas of life will be the major theme of life for next 18 months. The food industry will see some out of the box innovation. Longing for comforts in life will go up in people.

Ketu, being 180 degree away from Rahu, will move to the natural eighth house in Scorpio. This transit of Ketu is all about transformation. This will be the transformation of the deep core values, transformation in the field of healing and a transformation that is unexpected. Deep spirituality will rise in those who are in the spiritual path. Next 18 months are excellent for research, finding truth and uncovering mysteries. A lot of hidden truths will get exposed; these may be related to science, crime, occult, mysteries of the universe, alien lives etc. Ketu in Scorpio shows research in the chemical field. This may be related to medical science e.g. unexpected and sudden discovery of a medicine. This also indicates illness related to reproductive organs or urinary infections will go up in general.

Now I am coming to a little bit of in-depth technicalities, i.e. the Nakshatra-wise transit dates for Rahu and Ketu.
Rahu will begin his journey in Taurus with Mrigashira nakshatra on 23 September 2020 and stays in Mrigashira till 27 January 2021. Then it enters Rohini and stays there till 5 October 2021. Thereafter Rahu moves to Krittika and end his journey in Taurus on 12 April 22

Nakshatra-wise transit of Rahu:
Mrigashira : 23 September 2020 – 27 January 2021
Rohini : 27 January 2021 – 05 October 2021
Krittika : 05 October 2021 – 12 April 2022

Ketu enters Jyeshtha Nakshatra in Scorpio on 23 September 2020. On 2 June 2021 Ketu moves to Anuradha Nakshatra. From 9 February 2022 to 12 April 2022 Ketu remains in Vishakha and then completes his journey of Scorpio.

Rahu and Ketu’s results will vary with passing of each Nakshatra depending on whether or not these two shadow planets are compatible with each Nakshatra lord. For example let’s take Ketu’s transit in Jyeshtha; Jyeshtha’s lord Mercury is compatible with Ketu and therefore, the energy of Ketu being in its own sign of Scorpio will manifest fully between 23 September 2020 and 2 June 2021. When Ketu moves to Anuradha whose lord is Saturn, the difficult and conflicting energies are created because Anuradha’s lord Saturn and Ketu are not compatible.

Anyway, this transit overall promises materialistic and earthly obsession and awakening of deep spirituality, both. It will stabilise the uncertainties and at the same time will create ruffles exposing the hidden facts. As long as Rahu and Ketu both are in Mrigashira and Jyeshtha respectively, it will be the time for research, healing and search for the best possible way to stabilise the uncertainties.
