Exalted Sun in Aries and New Year Vikram Samvatsar 2078

Sun moves to Aries on 14 April and this is the beginning of the Vedic New Year. Vikram Samvatsar 2078 starts on 13 April 2021. So wishing everyone a very happy New Year! Counting of Vikram Samvatsar started during the time of King Vikramaditya the second of Gupta Dynasty. This time the name of the year is Rakshas and is a very special year.

So this is about the Samvatsar and now coming back to Sun in Aries; Sun gets exalted in Aries and is placed in his highest dignity. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and its direction is east. It is the first of the three fire signs and is owned by Mars. Aries denotes the new beginning of the Kaal Purush cycle.
Sun’s own energy of self-identity, leadership, high level of self-awareness, power, authority, purity, all of these form a great synergy with Aries’ energy. That is the reason why Sun can express himself so well in Aries and this is called exaltation of Sun.

Sun’s move in Aries has special significance in Vedic system, be it Vedic astrology or Vedic calculation of the year. Sun’s move in Aries is celebrated as the new beginning of the annual cycle in the Vedic system. As per our ancient scriptures or Purans on this day i.e., on the first day of bright lunar half of Chaitra month, Lord Brahma created this world. That is why this day is celebrated as the New Year all over India. If you observe the natural cycle, you will find that this is the time for the new leaves to come out in the trees all over the world, the nature herself shows that this is the new beginning. Vedic system is perfectly in sync with the natural and cosmic flow of energy. That is why our New Year also starts with Sun’s move to Aries.

This year Sun is accompanied by Mercury and Venus when he moves to Aries. Sun is also combusting these two planets. Sun’s move to Aries is always a welcome sign. When Sun is strong and exalted it creates the energy of moving ahead, gives motivation and a sense of purpose in life. An exalted Sun always empowers the leadership, the authorities, and the government. Sun is the significator of confidence and our inner strength or immunity, so exalted Sun will also help in boosting disease fighting ability in people .

Seeing from the natural chart this transit will benefit Aries and Leo ascendants the most of course. They will receive support of luck and creativity will increase. These two ascendants will also need to take care to remain humble during this time and not allow their ego dictate their actions and decisions.
There will be very good results for Gemini, Cancer and Sagittarius ascendants. Wealth and gain of money and status are foreseen for all three ascendants.

Libra, Aquarius will get moderate results. For both the ascendants some gain through partnership or from the spouse is foreseen.

Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces may not get great results from this transit. High expenses and loss of wealth can be there.

Aries, Taurus, Pisces ascendants can experience some eye related discomfort.

Now coming to the very brief prediction for the new Samvatsar. As I mentioned earlier this is Rakshas Samvatsar. Rakshas means demon. In this Samvatsara Mars is both the King and the Minister. Overall we will get to see an increase in aggression and fear in this year. There is a chance of getting extreme heat in the summer, rainfall may be less, there can be shortage of food and increase in diseases. Since Jupiter is in-charge of wealth this year, it is expected that there will be wealth generation too. Mercury gets to control the agriculture and Moon controls the safety and security of the country.
