Rahu Mahadasha Results

Here I am going to discuss what I found from my experience about Rahu Mahadasha, not just what is written in the books.
Rahu represents radical thinking, out of the box thinking, being away from tradition, all foreign matters, diplomacy, deception, and extremely sharp intelligence, it can be positive or negative. People running Rahu mahadasha gains this tremendous ability to mould themselves to fit any situation so that they can achieve what they want to achieve. That is the reason why Rahu is so important for success in politics and diplomacy. Since Rahu is just a point and has no physical existence, it gives results of the house lord where it is placed. If it is conjunct with any planet, it will give the result of that planet during the mahadasha.

As per Rishi Parashara, Rahu placed in in Cancer, Scorpio, Virgo and Sagittarius signs, in Kendra or trikona houses or in Upachaya houses i.e 3rd., 6th , 10th and 11th houses will give beneficial results in the mahadasha.

When Rahu forms Raj Yoga in the chart i.e. makes a connection with the lord of the Kendra or trikona houses and also sits in one of these houses, it can give you great achievements during his mahadasha.

Normally it is said that Rahu in the 12th house gives bad results, yes it does, but if the sign is Aries in the 12th house, and a powerful moon is also sitting there i.e. If you have Taurus ascendant, and Aries moon sign, I have seen Rahu giving unprecedented wealth to such people during his mahadasha.

In our traditional texts it is written ‘Shani bat Rahu’, i.e. Rahu is like Saturn. This way a lot of people expect to have same results in Rahu and Saturn mahadasha. The results are never the same. Rahu is like Saturn in nature, in tatwa, both are malefics, both are of air element, both have connection with Lord Shiva but when it comes to giving results in the mahadasha, Rahu will make you dream high, so high that you lose touch with the practicality and keep chasing it. Where as Saturn will bring such events and situations in your life where you get grounded to the reality, know your limits and be practical. Rahu will suddenly make you larger than life, but when Saturn gives big success, it comes with a lot of hard work and persistence, the success also remains there with you for a long time. Two completely different impacts.

Rahu also brings spiritual evolution in people. How? Rahu shows the carrot, people run after it and Saturn shows the ground reality, Rahu constantly lures, come a little closer, you will get it, you achieve some, but then lose it. People who can curb this chase of greed, ground themselves with some practicality, yet keep working, can actually be spiritually elevated during the mahadasha.
