April 2020 starts with a lot of action in the sign of Capricorn. I first jot down the planetary positions and transits of April 2020, I shall then discuss the impact of their composite energy on us.
- Saturn remains in Capricorn.
- Jupiter in Capricorn, its sign of debilitation and remains here for the entire month.
- Mars is also in Capricorn which is its exaltation sign.
- Mercury moves to its debilitation sign of Pisces on 07 April 2020 and it comes out of deep debilitation on 17 April 2020. Mercury moves to Aries on 25 April.
- Sun moves to its exaltation sign of Aries on 14 April 2020.
- Venus is in its own sign of Taurus the whole month.
- Rahu and Ketu also remain posited in Gemini and Sagittarius respectively.
- (All dates are as per Indian Standard Time)
If we analyse the planetary energies for April 2020, the first thing that hits is conjunction of debilitated Jupiter, exalted Mars and Saturn in own sign of Capricorn. It is in essence a battleground of two powerful malefics versus one powerless benefic planet. Mars and Saturn also creates ‘Sangharsh Yoga’ (yoga for struggle). Exalted and highly disciplined Mars in practical Capricorn would like to accomplish things soon, but will get restricted by Saturn. Actions and impulse to execute ideas will be curbed by Saturn. With both malefics aspecting the house of happiness and home in the Kaalpurush chart, there would be lack of positivity there. Distance or discord, if any, brewing so long at home, may take an unprecedented turn for some. Jupiter being debilitated is unable to provide enough support of wisdom and knowledge on how to deal with this situation. There is a chance that the authority, belief system, tradition, religion will be questioned and criticised. Therefore one needs to tread this energy extremely carefully.
On the finance side, two planets, Jupiter and Mercury, which are significators of finance and commerce, are in their weakest signs this month. The beating that world finance is taking due to the pandemic of COVID-19, is going to stay for long. Although presence of Saturn and Mars is creating Neech Bhanga Rajyoga for debilitated Jupiter, we will not get to feel the impact of the Neech Bhanga Rajyoga initially. Jupiter will rather give the effect of debilitation. Neech Bhanga will actually be effective once Jupiter crosses its degree of deep debilitation i.e. 5 degree of Capricorn and that is happening only by the end of this year.
People’s intellect, thoughts and communication will get affected by Mercury’s transit in the debilitated sign of Pisces. We may find ourselves at our wit’s end to tackle a situation or to apply common sense. Business, trade, commerce, career growth, education and investment related matters will also be at their lowest. Things will change for better after 17 April 2020. When Mercury comes out of Pisces and moves to action oriented and bold Aries on 25 April 2020, this energy will prompt us to speak our mind, communicate our point of views more aggressively and infuse more energy in business, commerce, education sector and in healing.
The disease COVID-19 itself will remain in strength till the time Rahu and Ketu are in Ardra and Moola nakshatras respectively. There will be some improvement after the third week of May when Rahu moves to Mrigashira nakshatra. Meanwhile in April when Sun enters Aries, there will be an overall improvement in the situation for a month, but for the actual remedy and eradication we may have to wait longer. Read my analysis in Corona Virus and imminent financial meltdown to know more.
From 31 March to 1 April 2020, Moon conjoins Rahu in Ardra. This is again a day to take care of emotional and mental well-being of many, particularly Gemini Moon signs. People should try to curb negative thoughts and be positive on these two days.
Venus is in its own sign of Taurus for the entire month. Till 14 April, it is free from any affliction and will increase the desire to live a comfortable, happy and luxurious life in people. Some of us may end up sprucing up our homes and spending on luxuries. This is also the time to mend any ruptures in the conjugal life. Bonding with the family will increase. The sense of ‘Basudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (empathy with the others in the world) will prevail. After 14 April, Venus gets presence of Sun and Rahu on the either side of itself. Money, savings, relationships and well-being will need more attention then.
Lastly, Kaalsarpa Yoga is formed for the entire month. On mundane level this causes a feeling of being trapped, mental anguish and unrest.
Some dates to be extra careful:
- 30 March to 2 April 2020 – Mars and Saturn are in closest conjunction.
- 31 March 2020 and 1 April 2020 – Moon conjoins Rahu in Ardra on 31 March and 1 April 2020.
Take utmost care of your health, emotional well-being and do not take any impulsive decision on the above dates.
In this troubled times I would encourage all to chant Mahamrityunjay mantra and Hanuman Chalisha to negate the ill effects of Rahu and Saturn and to develop positivity and calmness within ourselves.
